Function: Temporary plastic abutments connect to the implant and allow the clinician to fabricate a chairside temporary crown or bridge directly in the mouth or on a model. The narrow profile variants provide a reduced emergence diameter for aesthetic anterior cases, while the standard profile variants offer a broader base for posterior temporaries. Direct temporary cylinders are used for implant-level temporary restorations without an abutment interface.
