Function:

The female socket O-ring is a resilient elastomeric insert that sits within the metal housing embedded in the overdenture base. When the patient seats the overdenture, the O-ring snaps over the ball abutment, providing a tactile, secure retention force. Over time, the O-ring undergoes wear and loses retention force, at which point it can be easily replaced chairside without disturbing the housing or the denture base. Regular O-ring replacement is a routine maintenance procedure that restores full retention and extends the functional life of the overdenture.

Indications:
